New practice area!

Hi there!

I am really excited, because we have a new place to practice our shows!  Right in our living room! We set up a bunch of the floorboards that my dad made, and rolled marley on top.  My dad's going to find a nice mirror, so we can figure out choreography and stuff too!  Now we can work on our shows while my mom is making dinner! ( She always had to wait until we were done when we practiced in the kitchen.) 

I am about to jump into doing schoolwork again; I only have a month before all the St. Patricks day shows, so I'm going to try and get a lot done.

 Today we are doing a show for a Chamber Music program that we are a part of!  As well as doing a show, we are going to teach them a dance too!  

Greta gave me an assignment last night, I have two weeks to learn 5 diverse songs!  She's tired of hearing me sing "The Climb" all the time, I really do sing it all the time!=)  I sing it in the shower, in the car, getting myself a snack, etc. So she printed out the lyrics and put the songs on my i-pod so that I can learn them.

Back from the tour.

Hello!

Well, we are finally back from our 5 week tour! 

We have been back for a week now, with the exception of doing a fair in Port Townsend yesterday and the day before. 

We just finished planning tomorrow's show program and now we are all ready.

Being home is very nice, but being on tour was a lot of fun too. 

I am very happy that I get to see my dad again though. 

The five weeks went really fast it seems like, but when I think back on the tour and all of the places we went, it seems like it was pretty long.

Right now I am listening to some Irish music and Greta is putting up some clips on youtube of our latest shows.

You should go and check them out!  Just youtube "Gothard sisters" and they will come up. 

One thing I won't miss about being on tour are the train rides. ;)

They were pretty exiting at first but after spending 44 hours on it the exitement began to wear off. lol

Leaving in eight days!

Hello!

We leave for our firs tour in eight days! It's a little scary because I've never been away from home for more than 2-3 weeks so 5 weeks seems like a looooong time. We are all starting to get our packing lists written out and are thinking of al of the things that we need to bring.

Today we are going to spend the whole morning working on a counrty dance that we are going to be adding to our shows, it's going to be really funny! After that we are going to run through some shows just to remember how things flow and stuff.

Well, I should probably get a move on so ttyl!

Hi there!

Well, right now I am waiting for dinner so I thought I would sign on a type about some stuff. =)

Right now Willow is trying to find out a fiddle part to a new song that we are going to be doing in our shows. It's called "The fox went out on a chilly night."

After dinner we are going to the recording studio that we record at  to help mix the songs on our latest CD. It will probably end up being a late night so I'm glad that I got some sleep last night.

I am super duper excited about our latest CD! I think that it is going to be miles better than our last Celtic CD. The songs are so varied, there's probably something for everyone. There are slow songs, fast fiddle, homesick songs, country songs etc.

It will be really fun to bring them along our tour this summer.

I'm starting to think about how much I have to pack for a month and a half away from home and it's hard to decide what to bring and what would just take up extra space.

This is the first long tour that we have done so we'll just have to wait and see how it goes.

Hello there!

It's my first post on this blog!! Yay! This will be really fun!

Well, my sisters and I just finished practicing "Death by triple fiddle" for the CD recording session tonight, I'm a little bit nervous because it's a hard piece to tackle!

Also we are trying to pick the pictures that are best for our latest CD "Celtic Rainbow".  It's hard because each of us has our own opinion of what looks good and what doesn't. =)

I have a very big urge right now to bake something, but my mom already started making some sunny sunflower miny scones. Mmmmmmm!!!!!
