Things you will need for this hairstyle:

  • A bowl of water
  • A doll brush
  • A wash cloth
  • Foam curlers
  • A rubber band
  • Conditioner
  • A pretty ribbon

Step 1:

Dip the doll brush into the bowl of water to get it wet.

♥ Cristal's Tip: Put the washcloth over your doll's shoulders so her fine clothing won't get wet!

Step 2:

Carefully brush your dolls hair with the wet brush until it is damp.

Cristal's Tip: Start by getting the tangles out of the bottom of the hair and then work your way up to the top.  That will keep her hair from being pulled out!

Oooooooh, now isn't that lovely?

Step 3:

Get a wee bit of conditioner on your finger.  Not too much!

♥ Cristal's Tip:  How much conditioner you use depends on the thickness of your doll's hair. If she has thick hair, use more conditioner.  If she has thin hair, use less!

Step 4:

Spread the wee bit of conditioner throughout her hair to make it smooth and shiny!

♥ Cristal's Tip: Use a conditioner that has a pleasant smell, as
your doll may smell like it for the next few days!

Step 5:

Carefully gather the top part of your dolls hair......

Step 6:

......and brush it into a nice, clean, half-ponytail.

♥ Cristal's Tip: Watch out for stray hairs that might make it look messy!

Step 7:

Get the brush wet again.

Step 8:

Pick a strand of hair, and wet it with the brush.

♥ Cristal's Tip:  Make sure the whole strand gets an even amount of water.  That way the curl will stay in longer!

Step 9:

Open a foam curler, and wind the strand of hair around it.

♥ Cristal's Tip: (very important!) Be sure to tuck in the ends of the hair when you start curling so that there aren't little pieces sticking out.  This will make the curls look clean and tidy.

Step 10:

When you cannot wind the curler anymore, snap it shut, and move on to the next strand of hair.

♥ Cristal's Tip:  Wind the curler as far as it will go.  Curls do not turn out very well if they are wound loosely.

Step 11:

When you get to the half-ponytail, flip it up and out of the way.

Step 12:

Only bring the half-ponytail down when you have curled the entire bottom half of hair. Now you just have to curl this part up!

Congratulations! You did it!  Now all you have to do is wait.

Step 13:

Leave the curls in all night.  Unfortunately the curlers are tough to sleep in, so your doll might be in for a rough night!

♥ Cristal's Tip:  I suggest sleeping on a couch that has an armrest to lay your head on, and using a very fluffy and soft pillow.

Step 14:

In the morning, unsnap the first curler and gently pull it downwards.  If the curl immediately springs back upwards when the curler is out, her hair has dried and you can continue undoing the other curls.

However, if the curl hangs loosely and still feels wet, you will need to leave the curlers in for longer!

♥ Cristal's Tip:  Try not to tug too hard while taking out the curlers.  It can be rather painful and unpleasant for your doll!

This is the fun part!

Step 15:

Admire your dolls lovely curls!

♥ Cristal's Tip:  Take a pretty ribbon and tie it in a bow around the half-ponytail.
