Things you need for this hairstyle:
A wash cloth
A bowl of water
A rubber band
Put the washcloth over your doll's shoulders to keep her
Dip the brush in the bowl of water to get it wet.
Get your doll's hair wet by brushing her hair with the damp
Tip: Don't soak her hair, just try and get it to be less frizzy and straighter. For a smoother
look, try putting an eensy bit of conditioner in her hair.
Carefully gather a ponytail, leaving hair out all the
way around it.
Tip: Make sure you have an even amount of hair out all the way around the hairline without any places
where it is pulled comletely back.
Secure the ponytail with a rubber band.
Tip: Try and keep stray hairs from sticking out of the ponytail!
Twist the ponytail and bring it up over the rubber band
and around, creating a bun.
Secure the bun with bobby pins.
Select a strand of hair and brush it with the wet brush.
Open a foam curler and start rolling the strand of hair
Tip: Tuck in all the hairs when you start to make a clean looking curl.
Twist the curler all the way up to the head.
Snap the curler shut.
Tip: Make sure the curler is nice and tight! Loose curlers will create loose curls that do not last
Repeat this curling process for the strands of hair left
out all the way around the head.
Tip: Do not leave any hair uncurled!
Leave the curlers in all night.
Tip: Give your doll some extra soft pillows to sleep on... those curlers really do hurt!
In the morning, unsnap a curler and gently pull downwards.
Tip: The curls should spring back up again once the curlers are out. If they hang limply and
do not bounce up, the curls are probably still wet. In this case, you should leave them in a while longer.
Take out all the curlers.
Pick a curl. Put your thumb on the bottom of the curl
and your pointer finger on top of the curl. Compress the curl between these two fingers to create a coil.
Bring the coil up towards the bun.
Secure the coil to the bun with a bobby pin.
Tip: Thin, open bobby pins like this one work the best.
Repeat with all the curls around the head.
Tip: For an elegant touch, leave one curl out on the side of the head.
Decorate the hairstyle any way you like! Use bobby
pins to secure decorations to the hairstyle.
On Lily Merriman I have used two strands of pearls,
one around the bun, and one around the coiled curls, and I have pinned a feather and some flowers to the side of her
Isn't it divine?
♥ Cristal's Tip:
Do not completely cover the hairsyle with decorations- you want to be able to see the lovely coils!
