Name of Dress: Red Chile Dress Made
by: Willow Gothard Made for: Josefina Montoya
Made with: red satin, red patterned
sheen, black velvet ribbon, white ribbon lace
This dress was made for Josefina, but the waistline didn't fit her, so
it was handed down to Clara, who loves wearing this dress with matching red earrings.
The neckline is in a rectangle shape and lined with dark
black velvet.
The sleeves are simple and short, and the dress's main attraction is the boldness of the fabric
and the waistband.
The waistband is made out of a gorgeous white ribbon lace
with a black velvet ribbon woven in and out of it.
It is very Spanish - looking and makes this dress fancy
enough to wear to a ball.
Here is a closeup of the fabric.
It is a see-through
red patterned sheen that is sewn over a red silk fabric which deepens the color.
The dress is also very easy to put on and take off, since
the back zips up, and the waistband fastens into place with a snap.
