Fall events and a trip to Mars

Oh my, I am so excited that it is almost time for pumpkin pies, Halloween costumes and fall leaves! Okay.. maybe I'm getting a wee bit ahead of myself, there are still a few days left of August. ;)

Autumn is always a rather big deal in Pleasantville, as there are many balls and parties associated with the time of year. Mrs. Wickon plans to put on the Masked Ball this October after skipping last year, and Miss Samantha is already planning her seasonal Proper School party called, "The All Hallows Eve Fall Frolic," an occasion that every student looks forward to throughout the year.

Of course there are other less fancy events that happen in Autumn, such as the Larson and Montoya's Trading Day where the families are able to exchange firewood and blankets for pumpkins and yarn, and so on.

Even as the festivities of Fall time approach, there are still some people who can't help but cling to the tail end of summer. Elizabeth and Nancy are out on the Parkington porch swinging in a hammock right now, and they keep talking about the possiblity of having a "Kitty Band" (Nafy, Anna, Clara, and Elizabeth) concert on Mars one of these days. Samantha is near by sipping lemonade in her white wicker rocking chair, silently giggling behind her glass whenever Nafy begins to ramble on about how it would be fun to add "bouncing" choreography to her and her friend's show if they were able to travel to her idolized plannet.

Everyone else in town is also moving slowly as the heat of summer continues, except, that is, for Mrs. Wickon who continues to discuss the Masked ball with her best friend Cristal day in and day out. Suzanne thinks the ball should be themed as "under water," but Cristal keeps complaining that everyone would show up as mermaids. ;)

We will just have to wait and see what they decide on!

Why hello!!

I can't BELIEVE how long it has been since I last wrote on here... time certainly flies. :)

Right now I'm working on sewing Mammy, (also known as Mary Stuart, the Merriman children's governess,) a bunch of new dresses. Two normal workday dresses, and two slightly more fancy. I've really enjoyed working on a new creative project, and it's especially nice when it's rainy and wet outside like it is in Seattle right now. Anyways, Mammy has also been trying to set a good example because her and Mrs. Merriman have been constantly nagging Nafy to make a new ballgown for the last few months. Nafy unconsciously infuriates them by saying one day that she thinks she'll start right away on a new purple gown, and then changing her mind the next to say that she might make one in several months... or why not make it NEXT year?? ;)

Suzanne and Cristal have been rather bored lately, there doesn't seem to be much out there to gossip about, and so they have turned to competing with each other over "Who takes care of their family the best." It all started when Suzanne made a 4th of July picnic for her family to celebrate John's return from Egypt (he had been gone on business with Lavender Fox.) Cristal began to feel jealous of not being invited, and so she made sure that her evening with Katharine would be just as fashionable by taking a drive in her motor car and going out to a fancy dinner at the Chinese restaurant. The two of them continue to confuse their neighbors by going from each other's worst enemy to best friends in a matter of minutes. :)

And now I think I'll go and work on some of those sewing projects!

Josefina's new ballgown

Hello!

Wow! It's been quite a while since I last wrote a blog! I've been working on sewing Josefina a new ballgown which is going to be very fancy, she ordered the patterns from Tia Magdalena a few years ago and has put off making the dress for a while. But now she is finally getting started, and I'm really excited to see the results.

The dress is called, "The belle dress" and it has a lot of decorations on the skirt with a bunch of rosettes with beads in the middle on top of blue ribbon. The whole dress is made out of a really pretty blue fabric that looks nice on Josefina.

Things have been really busy around here since we are in the thick of recording a new Christmas CD, but we've managed to still have a lot of craft time and I'm in the middle of taking pictures for several new photo stories! Stay tuned. ;)

Happy fourth of July everyone!

Hi there!

Today everyone is getting ready for the 4th of July festivities. The residents of Pleasantville are all dressing up to go watch the fireworks tonight, as well as hear a speech from Mr. Merriman and a concert by Nafy and the Kitty band.

Nafy is trying to finish her new dress for the fair before tonight, because Mammy has told her that she must finish it before she's allowed out of the house!!

Mr. Merriman has been talking to himself in the mirror for parts of the morning occasionally bursting out in to "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness......."

Suzanne and Cristal have spent the morning getting dressed in their new gowns. Suzanne is in the middle of debating whether or not to put red and white feathers in her hair since she's wearing a blue cress. Cristal keeps telling her that it would clash horribly, but Sonja keeps telling her that it looks "So patriotic dahling!"

Mrs. Windmill is getting her house ready for her annual 4th of July BBQ that she holds every year for family and friends. She's always excited about holding parties at her house because that means that Laura and Paul will come home for a little while.

Hello everyone!!

It sure has been a long time since I wrote a blog! =) Things have been running smoothly in the town of Pleasantville lately except for various outbursts from Cristal's sewing workshop.

Cristal lends the sewing room to certain people who need to use a sewing machine, and unfortunately Ana Valasquez and Suzanne Wickon both need to use the sewing machine to make new dresses before the county fair.

Suzanne and Ana do NOT get along. Ever since Ana laughed at Suzanne's singing one afternoon at sewing circle, Mrs.Wickon has disliked her very much.

Suzanne has been losing her temper quite often in the sewing room because she keeps trying to find a way to insult Ana (In a polite way of course!) but Ana keeps out witting her!

Haha.... that's it for now ! I have to go eat lunch. ;)

Hello!!

Right now I am on the couch typing on Greta's laptop, and I just thought of how we have a very funny and interesting living room.

We have a dance floor with carpets and couches on top, a huge mirror on the wall, a dollhouse mansion in the corner, a TV in the fire place, a corner where Greta does all of the computer and business work, and instuments in their stands all along the dance floor.

Most people think we have a VERY large house to fit all of Pleasantvile inside, but we have a relatively small house. We leave all of the doll houses up year round, but some people still think that we have to take them down and set them up between photo stories and updates. That would be hard! lol

It's so neat that the internet can show our doll website to people around the world. It's like they can all come and visit our house even though they are miles away. =)

The Merriman children

Hia!

Greta is editing the movie right now! It is so special to watch a new scene every night! I'm soooo excited for all of you to see it.

Anyways, today I'm planning on playing either in the Merriman's or the Montoya's. Usually when we are playing dolls it's pretty late, and so we end up playing a lot in town square because my dad is asleep. (Meaning we don't want to wake him up by playing dolls in the Merriman's or the Montoya's which are in his bedroom.) So when there's a chance to play with those family's we usually do.

Mary Stuart (the Merriman's governess) has been very busy lately. Taking care of Nancy Merriman can sometimes be a hand full when she refuses to go to her singing lessons, and goes to play "cops and robbers" instead. She also has to keep preparing Felicity for court, and is now spending a lot of time doing what Felicity's daily duties were, so that Felicity can have more time to work on all of the 10 court gowns that she needs to make. Luckily Rachel isn't very hard to deal with except for when she doesn't want to wash the dishes. William on the other hand is following in Nafy's footsteps, and likes playing a part in all of Nancy's adventures.

Hellooooo!Well today we were supposed to do...

Hellooooo!

Well today we were supposed to do a show, but we looked at the calender this morning and the show is actually next month! So we have a whole empty day ahead of us in which I am hoping to get in some doll play. =)

The new bank is in town square now! Lisa is really excited about how nice it is, so she cleaned up the inside of the bank yesterday and made it look extra spiffy to hold up to the outside.

The ladies gathered for a sewing circle at the Montoya's last friday. Everything went well until Mrs. Merriman asked someone to play on the piano to entertain the others while they sewed. Dolores played Amazing Grace and then Mrs. Wickon began to sing "Queen of the night." Ana Valasquez and Dolores began to laugh at how high some of the notes were which really made Mrs. Wickon mad. She stopped singing and left the rancho in a huff saying that she would never come to a Montoya sewing circle again. Oh dear....

Everyone in Pleasantville is doing their spring cleaning now and getting all of their spring and summer dresses out in anticipation of the next few months. I'm really excited about spring too! When we went on a bikeride yesterday there was even someone having a barbeque!

Hola!

I am so excited, we are going to finish filming today!!!!!!!!! YES! Then Greta and Willow can start editing it. So we're half way done with the movie. lol I am so incredibly excited about all of you seeing this movie finally! Too bad it's going to be a while. It will all be better for the wait though. =)

The snow melted at the Larson's farm yesterday, I love how green the grass looks after being covered with snow for so long. A change in scenery can sometimes be so refreshing. The Grumpy Troll is very crowded these days; right now Lisa, Creme, and Mr. Wickon are all eating breakfast. The Grumpy Troll came out with a lot of new things on the menu recently, including a French breakfast, a Scottish breakfast, an Irish breakfast, a sweetheart mocha, and a drink called the heart warmer. I wish I could eat breakfast there!

I'm going to go and help my sisters set up the next scene now, Happy Valentine's day!

Hello!

Well, everyone is finally getting back to normal. Hooray! It's been a while since anyone did their chores in the Montoya Rancho, but they all did them just a few days ago. Fransisca, Ana, and Mama spent a lot of that day arguing about certain things, it was pretty funny! They all have such feisty tempers, that one of their arguments can be pretty amusing. =)

Juan, Antonio, and Tomas are another interesting group. Tomas likes to make up songs about food with the help of his sons, He'll ask each of them what their favorite dish is and then add them to the song. Also Mr. Montoya recently re-did everyone's chores so now Juan and Antonio have some funny ones like "Take Dude (the lizard) on a walk by the river" and "Sit quietly for as long as your mama tells you." lol

Nafy filmed another blog yesterday! I hope that Willow will have enough time to edit it before tomorrow, because I can't wait for all of you to see it!
