Pleasantville County Fair

As you all might have read in the latest Pleasantville Lady issue, Pleasantville is going to have it's very own County Fair this summer!  It was inevitable that this was going to happen, I mean, the dolls have always done things that we do in real life.  For example, when we did ice-skating, the dolls were into coming up with skating routines and doing competitions.  When we were traveling over to Ireland/Scotland for the irish dance world championships, the Parkingtons went on a trip to Europe.  It only makes sense that since we have been performing at county fairs so much, the dolls should do that too.

The funny thing is, I never went to County fairs when I was little.  I guess I've never completely understood what they are all about, but now that we're planning Pleasantville's fair it makes so much sense!  The judged competitions in all of the different categories, such as livestock, artwork, stitchery, etc. is such a fun idea.  Yesterday Suzanne and Cristal sat down and tried to decide what they would enter.  They are both very determined to win the title of "Miss Pleasantville" for winning the most blue ribbons.  They even considered entering the horse race for another shot at a ribbon, but luckily they realized that you can't do that unless you own a horse!!

It will take LOTS of preparation before the fair can happen, (especially if they're going to have a ferris wheel...) but I'm so excited about this idea!

 Love,

Willow

I did print out the latest issue of Pleasantville Lady! I am planning on making a photostory of my doll Charisma (Chrissa) reading it and how she responds to the "pink is out of fashion".

I thought that the fair sounds way cool! I can see that as something that will trigger doll lovers interest all over the world. I bet it could become something that all doll lovers want to do. I am looking forward to it, especially what you will use for the ferris wheel.

Great idea!

PS. I am actually your sister Solana's pen-pal! :D

I haven't gotten a chance to read the latest issue yet (will soon) but I did notice "Pleasantville County Fair."  That does sound like an awesome idea and perhaps Star Valley will have something similar someday-or a smaller spring fair, like my elementary school did/does...or something like Addy's church fair or the Fourth of July Festivities in Kirsten's book-some town-wide event in the spring or summer, lol ;)

I love doing the Winter Festival each year (partly got the idea from Gilmore Girls, hehe).  Like you guys, I think it's also fun making the dolls do stuff I've done.  Sometime I'd like them to do "air band" like my elementary school also did (you pick music, then come up with a choreographed routine to it, pretending your the singer).  And my friend and I are planning for them to do a cabaret show.

I agree it'll be neat to see how you do a ferris wheel and/or any other rides.  I never went to county fairs when I was little, either.  The first time was in junior high and then a few times since that.  I think it's interesting all the fun things they include.
