Willow's Blog
Wednesday, 11 November 2009

It's getting pretty cold these days, not to mention wet.  It is half way through November after all which is CRAZY.   Christmas has started early in this house, because December will be so busy that we wanted to start decorating a month early.

All the dolls, (well most of them at least) have lots of ideas for presents to give each other, and the hard part is that Greta, Solana and I need to make them secretly which is hard in a small house!  I've claimed the sewing room for the last week, and have to keep reminding Solana, "DON'T look in there!"

Greta bought some new Mannheim Steamroller Christmas music that we didn't already have, (gasp!)  which I absolutely love.  Everything they do is so brilliant.

Meanwhile, down in town square Cristal and Suzanne are busy trying to do everything that "The Pleasantville Lady" says is fashionable to do in the holiday season.  This includes baking cookies, decorating on the day of the first snowfall, writing Christmas cards, going gift shopping, and making sure that each room has decorations.   So far they are quite on top of things except that Cristal has yet to bake cookies and Suzanne still has Christmas cards to write.

See you all next week!

Love,

Willow

Goings On
Now Playing: Scottish Christmas CD

Well, the Christmas music has started playing around our house.  Right now I'm listening to a Scottish Christmas CD.  It's really pretty.. I think some of these songs will have to go in the Larson's Christmas playlist.

Mr. Larson is off at the hospital right now getting his arm fixed, so it's up to Peder to be the man of the house for a few weeks.  It's really cute.  He is trying to get everyone in the house to get moving in preparations for the winter, and definitely motivated Mrs. Larson to clean the barn which was a complete disaster.  She even fixed the storm shelter too, so the Larsons are finally on their way to being ready for bad weather.  Who knows when the first snowfall will be so it's best to be prepared!

Alex has been feeling a bit threatened recently about her restaurant since the Grumpy Troll has become so popular.  Yesterday she decided to come out  with a new fall special, which was a new recipe of curried crabs.  Sure enough, she had quite a few customers that day including John Wickon who ordered a plate for himself and one for his dog, Watson.

Well, time to get my day started.

Willow

Post-Masked Ball

Ok, now that the masked ball is over I am starting to think about Christmas.  Already, yes I know.  I'm so excited about it.  I looooove that holiday so much!  Pleasantville is really going to be doing a lot for Christmas this year, since we'll be at home for most of December.

We have another Pleasantville movie in the planning stage right now that is going to be very cute.  Filming will probably begin sometime in the next month.   Besides that, we have lots of other projects to work on.

The Pleasantville pub, (called the Grumpy Troll)  has just opened, and it's been very popular, especially later in the evening and early in the morning.  Since they serve coffee as well as other drinks, (it's kind of like Pleasantville's Starbucks)  there are lots of frequent customers who want their peppermint mochas and pumpkin spice lattes.  Lisa Devecamont is particularly excited, as she loves to get up early and get coffee before heading to work at the bank.

There was quite a surprising moment at the masked ball this year, as Lavender Fox decided to invite Felicity on a trip to Europe in January, and informed Mrs. Merriman that Felicity will need to have at least ten gowns that are as fancy as her current ball gown.  Therefore, Felicity and Mrs. Merriman have been busy figuring out how they will finish in time and Felicity has been boasting about her invitation to anyone who will listen.  The other children are starting to get a bit annoyed that Felicity is suddenly getting all the attention!

That's it for now, see ya next week.

Love,

Willow

'Tis the day!

The day has arrived!  And I'm definitely not ready yet.

Tonight is supposed to be the Masked Ball, but I have a lot to do still.  For one thing, Felicity's ballgown is not finished.  I've pinned most of it together, but I still have to sew it and add a bunch of decorations.

Laura still needs her costume figured out, and Cristal has a few hairstyles she isn't quite finished with since they still have curlers in.

Not only that, but the forest/garden where the masked ball is held on the Parkingtons' grounds still needs to be set up.  That means collecting all the plants and trees from the Larson's farm and rounding up as many Christmas lights as possible!

Okay, time for me to get going.  Felicity's ball gown calls!  We'll definitely be taking pictures.

Leaving Georgia

Good morning y'all!

Today is the day we're leaving the south and heading back to the northwest.  Goodbye Georgia!  The Georgia National Fair was one of my favorite fairs this summer.  It was really well planned out and the fairgrounds were so nice!  The people were too.  We got to be really good friends with the man who helped us with our sound, (he was performing too) and it was very sad to say goodbye to him yesterday!  :'(

It was so hot and humid when we first got here at the beginning of the week, and completely opposite.  Cold and rainy!  You'd think it was Seattle!  LOL

Yesterday was Nafy's birthday and I can't believe I was all the way across the country from her.  I wonder what she got up to while I was gone.. I bet she ate lots of chocolate.

As soon as we get home preparation for the masked ball begins.  Cristal has started Suzanne's ballgown, but she's having some trouble with making it fancy enough.  Right now it would be perfectly suitable for a thanksgiving dinner... not the fanciest ball of the year!

Well, time to check out of the hotel and drive to the airport in Atlanta.

Talk to y'all later! ;)  (See, I have a southern accent now!  Just kiddin.')

Fall

Hey!

Today is the first day so far that actually feels like fall.  It was very chilly out this morning which kind of shocked me into realizing that it's about time to be bringing a coat with me wherever I go now!

Pleasantville is starting to look festive.  There are colorful leaves everywhere and the families are pulling out their warm winter clothes and blankets, and stocking up their piles of firewood.  For the Montoyas, not much is different.  But the Larsons are definitely noticing a change in temperature!  They'll be the first ones to get snow in about a month so they have to be completely ready for winter.

The masked ball is approaching, and therefore I have lots of sewing to do.  There are a couple very fashionable people who do NOT want to have to wear the same ball gown they wore at the last two balls, and it's hard to know where to start.  Cristal has a new gown, and so does Lisa at least!

 TTYL,

-Willow

Nafy

So lately, Nafy has been taking up a lot of my time because she's insisted on starting a video blog.  So not only do we have a Nafy and Elizabeth 5 News and a Nafycast, we're going to have a Nafy's video blog too.  Honestly, I don't know what she will come up with next.  Well... actually I do, but it's going to be a HUGE project!  That's a story for another day.

I worked on Lisa's ballgown for the masked ball yesterday, and it's going to be a bit crazy.  I looked up "red carpet" dresses on google images, and found a snazzy black one to use as a model, because Lisa wants to be the cutting edge of modern fashion.  She will definitely be the only one at the ball with a dress like hers!!

I just read about the idea to have a virtual Proper School course from the message board, and I think it's a really good idea.  It probably wouldn't be all that difficult for us to do, but we'll have to think about it!

Love,

Willow

Downtown Pleasantville

Wow, downtown Pleasantville is a MESS right now!  I just moved Clara's sweet shop, Bamboo Terrace and the General Store out into the middle of town square because the plan is to remove our big china hutch out from behind them.  If it is moved out of the way, then there will be enough room in town for a few more shops! :D  Cristal plans to make her fashion shop, and there has to be room for the Pleasantville tavern/restaurant.

This also means that Angelica's house has to move, and so does Kaya's cave.  That's a lot of disruption to happen in a few hours!  So now, not only are Megan, Alison, Lisa, and Creme homeless, so are Angelica, Sonja and Kaya! It's kind of overwhelming.  I don't like it when things are all ripped apart like this.  It'll be worth it when town square is all finished though.

It's cloudy and raining!?  Where did summer go??? At least it's not very hot, because I have a hard time getting anything done when it's sweltering outside.  Yesterday I made a new dress for Rebecca Parkington.  It was the first time I've done a doll sewing project since April!!!! I was so happy!!!

 Love,

Willow

Valparaiso, Indiana

Hi guys!

Here I am in the business center of a hotel in Indiana, and it's so nice to be on the internet again!  It's kind of sad how hard it is to go without internet for a week or two, imagine what things were like before computers?!  But anyway, finally I can check up on all my different accounts and catch up on things.

It's been about 3.5 weeks so far on this tour, which sounds like a lot but I'm actually surprised at how fast it's going by.  It's our longest tour yet, but pretty soon we'll actually be on the train going home? The fun thing is, we've had to ask my dad to send us some more CD's, because our stock of Celtic Rainbow CD's is down to 10!!! They'll be gone by the end of the day.

I really miss Pleasantville.  I bet the residents are keeping busy even without us though, haha.  Actually, the fantastic thing is that my dad has been spending lots of time working on the Montoya's new walls, and he's really taking his time and making it look extremely authentic.  He's sent us some pictures so far, and it's going to be amazing.  If only he could just making doll houses as a full time job, he is SO GOOD AT IT!!!!!

Well stay cool everyone, and try not to get too sunburnt!

Love,

Willow

We've arrived!!!!

I'm so happy to be in Indiana finally.. I just had a shower which was amazingly nice after a 44 hour train ride.  The first night on the train was fine, but I have to admit that the second night was quite uncomfortable.  At least there was some great scenery to look at though!  It was raining when we got here to South Bend, but tomorrow it's going to be sunny and in the 80's.  I'm so ready to do the first shows of the tour!

It was funny on the train, I was picturing characters in Pleasantville all taking a train ride somewhere and it was pretty amusing.  I could just imagine all the Merriman's lined up with their dinner partners waiting to enter the dining car, and I could see the Windmill's in baggy sweatpants, snacking on chips and listening to i-pods while sprawling on their seats.  I could see the Parkingtons listening avidly to the tour guide in the lounge car with the big windows, and I could definitely imagine Vera sitting on top of the train with her feet crossed over, meditating or chanting to herself, while Mei mei was trying to get her attention from a window down below to ask for a lift up to the roof. And I could go on... and on... ;)

I just wrote some new bios for the Purr family.  It's funny, I JUSt realized that it's funny how Diamond (Cristal's dog) is the only dog in a house full of cats.  Hahaha.

Well it's getting late over here, and I have to get up early in order to make it to breakfast in the hotel and have enough time to get all dressed up and organized before the first show.

 Wish me luck!

Love,

Willow
